(Houston, Texas) — On Monday, August 17, 2026, Congressman Al Green will join Houston Haitians United, community leaders, advocates, and concerned residents for a press conference addressing the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for nationals of certain countries, including Haiti, as well as alarming concerns surrounding immigration enforcement operations across the United States.

(Washington, D.C.) — On Saturday, August 15, 2026, Congressman Al Green will host Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for a historic Slavery Remembrance Legislative Update and Assembly to implement a National Day of Slavery Remembrance on August 20th annually. The annual event will help ensure the evils of slavery are never forgotten and thus never repeated. The assembly will be held in the Capitol Visitor’s Center Auditorium located at 2 U.S. Senate Drive, Washington, D.C., 20510, at 11:00 a.m. ET.

(Houston, TX) — On Thursday, August 6, 2026, a symbolic check for $500,000 will be presented to the Hiram Clarke/Fort Bend Redevelopment Authority (HCFBRA). The funding, awarded through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Community-Wide Brownfield Assessment Grant Program, will support HCFBRA's work serving Fort Bend County and Southwest Houston.
