(Washington, D.C.) — On Friday, December 12, 2025, Congressman Al Green delivered remarks on the House floor to confront the threats posed by Donald John Trump to democracy and the Constitution and to commend the courageous Members who voted to advance his impeachment resolution. 

(Washington, DC)—On Wednesday, December 11, 2025, Congressman Al Green issued the following statement regarding H.Res.939, a privileged resolution calling for the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. After consideration, the House voted 237-140 to table the measure, with 47 members voting “present.” A copy of the members’ votes is accessible by clicking here. Congressman Al Green made a promise and commitment to bring a vote to the floor of the House of Representatives to impeach Donald John Trump before the Christmas break. He is true to his word, and until the vote is taken, he will stage a sit-in by taking the same seat he had on the floor of the House of Representatives during the Joint Session of Congress when he told Donald Trump that he didn’t have a mandate to cut Medicaid, Medicare, or Social Security. 

(Washington, D.C.)— On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, I filed H.Res.939, to impeach Donald John Trump, President of the United States. This resolution asserts that President Trump is an abuser of presidential power who, if left in office, will continue to promote violence, engender invidious hate, undermine our democracy, and dissolve our Republic, and that he is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors.

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, Congressman Al Green participated in the “Remove the Regime” rally in Washington, D.C., alongside activists and faith leaders. During his remarks, Congressman Green spoke about his moral imperative to defend democracy, condemned President Trump’s threats against sitting Members of Congress, and declared that he will bring new articles of impeachment to the House floor for a vote prior to the Christmas Recess.
