(Washington, DC)--Last week, Congressman Al Green (TX-09) introduced a bill in the House of Representatives which would grant Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to Pakistani nationals affected by the devastating floods that ravaged Pakistan this past summer. Temporary Protected Status allows aliens who do not legally qualify as refugees, but are nonetheless fleeing or reluctant to return to potentially dangerous situations, to temporarily remain in the United States.
