(Houston, TX)--On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013, Congressman Al Green set aside time to call the families of some Texas troops that were stationed on Leyte Island in the Philippines to express his admiration for their service and let family members know that their loved ones are doing well. Congressman Al Green met the troops while recently on a Congressional delegation trip to the Philippines, where he met with local leaders and surveyed the areas damaged by Supertyphoon Haiyan. 

(Washington, DC)--On November 21, 2013, Congressman Al Green (TX-09) introduced a bill which would grant Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to Filipino nationals for a period of 18 months after its enactment. The Filipino nationals would have to demonstrate that they have been lawfully and continuously present in the U.S. since November 8, 2013.

(Washington, DC)—On November 21, 2013, Congressman Al Green (TX-09) announced he will be traveling to the Philippines on an official Congressional Delegation trip on November 22, 2013. The trip is being organized by the House Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations.
