(Washington, DC)--Today, Congressman Al Green (TX-09) voted to support the Flood Insurance Reform Priorities Act of 2010 (H.R. 5114), which passed the House by a vote of 329-90. Congressman Al Green is a cosponsor of the bill, which amends the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 and reauthorizes the National Flood Insurance Program through 2015.

Today, Congressman Al Green (TX-09) announced that the Houston VA Regional Office has hired 51 new workers with funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which President Obama signed into law in February 2009.
The new workers will assist processing Veterans’ claims for VA benefits, including compensation, pensions and education benefits.
