Congressman Al Green’s Remarks on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the 77th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz

(Houston, TX) – On Thursday, January 27, 2022, Congressman Al Green (TX-09) released the following statement:

“On January 27^th annually, International Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed. On this day, we remember the millions of victims of fascism who perished in the Holocaust. This day of remembrance, designated by the United Nations to mark the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, signifies the world’s collective responsibility to recognize what happened only 77 years ago and prevent it from ever being repeated.  We must never forget the dehumanization and invidious discrimination millions of Jewish people were subjected to. People of goodwill must never forget and pledge to be a voice for the voiceless.”
