Congressman Al Green Reacts to the Supreme Court Decision in Fisher v. University of Texas

(Washington, DC)—On Thursday, June 23, 2016, Congressman Al Green (TX-09) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision in Fisher v. University of Texas.

“Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court is a victory in the quest for increased diversity in our institutions of higher education. The challenge to affirmative action heard by the court threatened to undermine the sincere efforts of educational institutions around our country to create a diverse environment in which our students can learn,” Congressman Al Green said.  “It is my hope that this ruling will enable the U.S. to continue making progress toward the inward and upward inclusion of all groups in our nation.”
