Congressman Al Green Joined Mr. Wea Lee and the International Management District in Distributing 10,000 Procedural Masks to City of Houston

April 4, 2020

(Houston, TX) — On Saturday, April 4, 2020, Congressman Al Green joined Mr. Wea Lee and the International Management to distribute 10,000 procedural masks to Houston health officials. Congressman Green released the following statement:

“During this global health emergency, our frontline medical professionals and first responders have gone above and beyond the call of duty to combat the COVID-19 crisis,” Congressman Green noted. “Unfortunately, they have done so with a constantly diminishing supply of personal protective equipment (PPE).”

Congressman Green has repeatedly encouraged people, organizations, and companies that may have unused PPE available to contact his congressional office to have materials authenticated and delivered to the appropriate public officials.  He has previously delivered contributions to City of Houston and Fort Bend County officials.

Green added, “I must thank the International Management District for its largesse of 10,000 procedural masks to the City of Houston to help supplement the shrinking inventory of PPE. Additionally, I am grateful to local community leader Mr. Wea Lee for bringing this valuable contribution to my attention. It is up to each of us as leaders and members of the community to help the professionals on the front lines of this pandemic in any way we can. We must all play our part to flatten the curve and defeat COVID-19.”

If you have unused PPE available that you would like to contribute to appropriate entities, please contact the Office of Congressman Al Green at 713-383-9234.
