Congressman Al Green in Cooperation with the Small Business Administration Presents Two Coronavirus Webinars for Small Businesses, NGOs, and Churches with Non-profits

April 1, 2020

(Houston, TX) — Congressman Al Green – in cooperation with the Small Business Administration (SBA) – presents two webinars for small businesses, NGOs, and non-profits that have been economically impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Congressman Green released the following statement:

“Each of the coronavirus relief measures that has been enacted includes provisions for small businesses, for which I have proudly advocated,” Congressman Al Green of the Ninth Congressional District of Texas stated. “Most recently, H.R. 748 – the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act – contains provisions that deliver on small business relief I called for in my March 20, 2020, letter to Secretary Mnuchin and Speaker Pelosi. In this letter, I called for loans, tax credits, and grants for small businesses, micro businesses, and self-employed persons to have access to capital during this time of national hardship.”

Green added, “Now that we in Congress have made these resources available through legislation, it is imperative that our constituents are informed on how to access the provisions these laws offer. This is why I am presenting two webinars in cooperation with the SBA. The first webinar addresses disaster recovery opportunities for small business owners with businesses that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The second caters to the more intricate needs of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as churches with non-profits during this time of uncertainty.”

The webinar for small businesses will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 12 PM CST. The webinar for NGOs and churches with non-profits will be held Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 12 PM CST. Green concluded by saying, “I must thank the SBA for their work to inform these entrepreneurs and community leaders of opportunities they may qualify for and to quickly deliver the federal resources made available by Congress.”
