Congressman Al Green Attends the 2014 Lyndon Baines Johnson Moral Courage Award Dinner
(Houston. TX)--On May 29, 2014, Congressman Al Green attended the 2014 Lyndon Baines Johnson Moral Courage Award Dinner at the Hilton Americas in Houston. The event was keynoted by civil rights legend Congressman John Lewis, and proceeds from the dinner will go to support ongoing educational programs of the Holocaust Museum Houston.
Holocaust Museum Houston established the Lyndon Baines Johnson Moral Courage Award in 1994 to memorialize President Johnson. The ceremony honored civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr., as well as Holocaust survivor and human rights activist Gerda Weissmann Klein.
“When we recognize the exemplars of courage and integrity amongst us, we recognize the potential greatness in all of us,” Congressman Al Green said. “The lives of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Gerda Weissman Klein are an inspiration to us all.”
