(Washington, D.C.) — On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Congressman Al Green delivered remarks on the House floor during one-minute speeches following his attendance at a classified briefing that showed there was no imminent threat to the United States before the war. Congressman Green also stated that he intends to vote in support of the War Powers Resolution.

(Houston, TX) —On Monday, March 2, 2026, Congressman Al Green, a member of the Homeland Security Committee, will hold a press conference to address issues related to the war in Iran. This will include a classified briefing which he will attend tomorrow, March 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

(Houston, TX) — On February 27, 2026, Congressman Al Green announced that his Fiscal Year 2027 Community Project Funding request portal is now live. Community Project Funding provides a direct pathway for eligible entities to secure federal resources for projects that strengthen neighborhoods, improve infrastructure, expand opportunity, and enhance quality of life throughout the district.

Congressman Al Green stated: “The President has taken our country to war without Congress having weighed in. I’m calling on Speaker Johnson to reconvene the Congress to allow the War Powers Resolution, of which I am a cosponsor, to be voted on.”

(Washington, DC) —On Monday, February 23, 2026, Congressman Al Green announced that he will not participate in interviews conducted in the Russell Senate Office Building during the State of the Union. The Senate Office Building is named to honor Senator Richard Russell, Jr., whose record includes opposition to anti-lynching legislation, co-authorship of the “Southern Manifesto,” and resistance to the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

(Houston, TX) — On Friday, February 13, 2026, Congressman Al Green marked National Salute to Veteran Patients Week by distributing 1,000 Valentine’s Day cards created by students in local after-school programs and 1,000 Congressional Certificates to honor veterans. The distribution was held at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC). This event served as a tribute to courageous individuals dedicated to serving and safeguarding our country.
