Jan 21, 2021

(Washington, DC) – On Thursday, January 21, 2021, Congressman Al Green released the following statement:

“In the wake of rising division in our nation, I am concerned for congressional staff and the public around Members of Congress who could easily be caught in the crossfire when our safety and security are threatened,” stated Congressman Al Green, a Democrat representing Texas’ Ninth Congressional District. I am concerned about those around us who may lack the necessary resources to ensure their security. I am grateful to my colleague Congressman David Schweikert of Arizona for his bipartisan partnership on this resolution and look forward to its passage.”

Congressman David Schweikert added, “I am pleased to join my colleague in re-introducing this resolution to ensure Members and staff are safe while serving in public office. This resolution reflects our not-so-new reality for adequate resources to ensure Members can effectively carry out their duty interacting with and serving the public.”
